This zippered bag is super easy to make and takes no time at all. I only ask that you not sell the items you make using my patterns. I am offering them to you for personal use only. Enjoy!
Here are the materials you need. Click HERE to download the pattern. Print it off and cut out the two pieces.
- 2 Co-ordniating fabrics in fat quarters
- fabric scissors
- 9 inch zipper
- seam ripper (for mistakes)
You will end up with 4 rectangles.
Now cut out the bow portion. Place your pattern on top of the folded fat quarter of your choice so you’ll be cutting through 2 layers like this. Pin and cut:
Then cut out 2 squares that measure 2 inches x 2 inches. You should end up with this when you’re done:
Turn it inside out like this:
Now take the 2 small squares you cut and sew them along 3 edges leaving one open so you can turn it inside out:
When you turn it inside out, they should both look like this:
Double that small square, wrap it around the bow and pin down. Then sew it closed so you’re left with a bow.
Now take one of your outer fabric pieces and pin your bow to it matching up the sides. Sew down each side:
Lay your liner piece over that and pin all top edges together including the zipper. You will sew where you’ve pinned.
Repeat this on the other side as well. Turn the pieces so the outer portions’ RIGHT sides face each other:
Pin each of the sides together:
Reach inside the bag and pull the zipper open. Then sew across the BOTTOM of the outer fabric like this:
Now snip off the edges of the remaining zipper.
Now turn it inside out:
Now fold the liner inside itself and sew shut! That’s it! You’re done!
Put the liner inside the bag. Marvel at your work!!
