I am the type of Mom that would much rather prevent boredom than deal with it once it strikes. We live in South Florida so the weather tends to be either way too hot/humid to be outside or it’s storming. We spend a ton of time in the pool but we still have moments where the kids are figuring out how to spend their time. Now let me say this: I don’t believe it’s a parent’s job to entertain their kids 24/7. We should be playing with them and reading with them, yes. But all day long? I don’t believe that’s healthy. Kids need to be able to play independently for a little while each day.

Sometimes, though, our mom brains shut down and we just can’t think of something for them to do to either play, learn or stretch their imaginations. So I decided to make a list that I keep around the house when this happens. You can print both lists off for FREE HERE. How do you combat summer boredom? I’d love to know!
